West Coast Eagles players and partners were last night welcomed to the Rosendorff flagship showroom in the city for a private viewing of the diamond jewellers new collection.
The boys appreciated the opportunity to relax and enjoy the champagne and canapés on offer with their wives and girlfriends ahead of the season proper next month. They were less impressed, however, by their partners’ enthusiasm for the glittering items on display.
Upon arrival, guests were handed a glass of champagne with a stone nestled at the bottom and were encouraged to take their glass to the resident diamond valuer to determine whether their stone was a cubic zirconia or the single 30-point diamond.
It was Adam Selwood’s lovely partner Chloe Krushka who walked away with the prize, worth approximately $2000, and the lucky win resulted in merciless teasing by Selwood’s teammates who were very keen for the 25-year-old to pop the question.
As one of the club’s corporate partners, Rosendorff creates the Chris Mainwaring Medal which has been presented for the past three years to the best clubman at our Club Champion Awards.
The solid yellow gold medal is valued at an estimated $11,000 and is designed by Rosendorff master craftsman, George Kupcsik, who spends more than 30 hours meticulously creating and etching the late Chris Mainwaring’s image into the gold by hand.
Previous Chris Mainwaring medallists include Beau Waters (2009), Jaymie Graham (2008) and Ashley Hansen (2007).
