Keegan Brooksby officially an Eagle

The West Coast Eagles has finalised it’s playing list ahead of the 2019 season by signing former Gold Coast Suns ruckman Keegan Brooksby as part of the pre-season supplemental selection period.

Brooksby played 14 games across three seasons at the Gold Coast from 2015 to 2017, his most productive season being 2016 when he represented the Suns on eight occasions.

The 28-year-old, who is listed at 198cm and 99kg, captained South Adelaide in the SANFL in 2018, where was the standout ruckman in South Australia’s state league competition.

He averaged an impressive 35 hitouts and 15 disposals per game for the Panthers.

West Coast Eagles list manager Brady Rawlings said the club felt he was a very good addition to the club’s roster ahead of the upcoming premiership campaign.

“It’s great that we can now officially call Keegan an Eagle,” Rawlings said today.

“We think his attributes contribute to our ruck mix and think he can really grow and grow others within our program.

“As I’ve said previously, Keegan is physical and competes strongly around the ground, things we value strongly.

“We welcome him to the club and look forward to seeing what he can produce in 2019.”
