The West Coast Eagles will have a full-scale first round dress rehearsal against Fremantle at David Grays Arena on Sunday.

The Eagles' match committee has selected a full-strength team for the second of the JLT Community Series matches against their cross town rivals.

The exceptions are athletic ruckman Nic Naitanui, who continues to progress after a second knee reconstruction, and 2018 premiership stars Josh Kennedy (shoulder), Will Schofield (quad) and Jamie Cripps (foot).

While Naitanui is on course for a return close to the middle of the year, the other experienced players should be all pushing for round one.

Schofield, an outstanding contributor in the grand final victory over Collingwood, should play in an intra-club match next week, along with dual Coleman medallist Kennedy.

Young forwards Jake Waterman, Oscar Allen, Jarrod Brander, Jarrod Cameron and Jack Petruculle have all been named in a 26-man squad for Sunday’s game, giving them the opportunity to make a last-ditch audition for the season opener.

They are all pressing for a place on the plane bound for Brisbane for the March 23 contest that will mark the start of the 2019 campaign.
