Andrew Gaff pocketed nine AFLCA votes on Saturday night

West Coast Eagles players dominated this week’s AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year votes following the club’s 22-point triumph over Collingwood on Saturday night.

After spending more than eight months patiently waiting on the sidelines, Andrew Gaff produced a simply sublime performance that netted him nine votes from senior coaches Adam Simpson and Nathan Buckley.

Gaff collected his first possession within six seconds of the first bounce and as the final siren rung out around the MCG he had a game-high 35 disposals in his stats column. 

He also registered a team-high 13 contested possessions, four inside 50s and three centre clearances.

Jamie Cripps was also outstanding in his return game, which was highlighted by 18 disposals, nine contested possessions and four spectacular goals at the MCG.

He pocketed eight AFLCA votes for his efforts.

Reigning Norm Smith Medallist Luke Shuey was instrumental in the win and he collected  seven votes for his performance, which featured 24 disposals, seven clearances, nine inside 50s and two goal assists.

Dom Sheed received four votes for his impressive game, which included 24 disposals, two marks inside 50 and three goals at the home of football.
