Jeremy McGovern has been slapped with a $2000 fine for engaging in rough conduct against St Kilda’s Blake Acres at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.

The three-time all-Australian defender was cited by match review officer Michael Christian for bumping acres off the ball during the first quarter of the round eight encounter with the Saints.

Based on the available evidence, Christian assessed the incident as intentional conduct with low Impact and body contact.

The incident was classified as a $3000 sanction for a first offence, but McGovern can accept a $2000 fine with an early plea.
