Adam Simpson and Alan Richardson rated Elliot Yeo's performance on Saturday night

Elliot Yeo banked nine AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year votes for his commanding performance against St Kilda at Marvel Stadium.

The dual John Worsfold medallist was recognised as the game’s most influential player by senior coaches Adam Simpson and Alan Richardson after amassing 23 disposals, 13 contested possessions, six tackles, five clearances and five marks on Saturday night.

Fellow midfielder Luke Shuey was awarded five votes for his 27-disposal, seven-clearance, three-tackle effort and Liam Ryan earned four votes after effecting 17 disposals, 10 pressure acts, six marks and a goal to boot.

Jamie Cripps (28 pressure acts, 21 disposals, two goals) and Shannon Hurn (25 disposals, nine marks, four one percenters) each pocketed two votes for their efforts against the Saints.

Shuey is currently the only Eagle in the running to take out the prestigious AFLCA award after eight home and away games.

He is placed tenth on the leaderboard, 18 votes behind Carlton co-captain Patrick Cripps.
