After a challenging 2017, playing 13 games, Masten bounced back to have one of his best AFL seasons in 2018, culminating in playing in the club's fourth premiership win. Racked up over 20 possessions on 10 occasions in 2018, including 30 touches against Gold Coast in round four. Continued to use his elite running-base to work up and down the ground, particularly pushing hard into defence where he notched a new career-high for rebound 50s.
