Eagle Insight

Since 2013, The West Coast Eagles Eagle Insight Program has delivered presentations to more than 12,000 high school students across Western Australia.

This program is specifically designed to assist teachers reach educational outcomes by aligning elements elite practices to school-based curriculum.

Presentations are delivered by one of the qualified teachers within the Community & Game Development team, and generally run for 45mins-1hr.

The program is FREE to all high schools in the Perth metropolitan area, with regional delivery undertaken on a rotational basis across Western Australia.

Teachers can select from our five presentations, which have all been designed to align with the Western Australian curriculum.

Training for Elite Performance: Provides an insight into the training program at the West Coast Eagles and the requirements to be an AFL footballer. The presentation focuses on training periods, principles of training, component of fitness, nutrition/hydration information, injury prevention and rehabilitation. This program is specifically designed for year 10/11/12 Physical Education students.

Cyber Awareness: With technology and social media playing an ever increasing part of our lives, this presentation looks to educate students to stay safe whilst providing strategies to overcome challenges online. The four challenging areas that we focus on are: cyberbullying, privacy, digital reputation & screen time. Designed for year 7/8/9 students

Goal Setting & Resilience: Identifies the importance and benefits of setting SMARTER goals to positively influence our lives, and keep us motivated and focused to achieve. Students will create their own goal and explore the importance of developing resilience when setbacks present themselves along the way. Relevant for all age groups

Leadership: The presentation explores the process of how we develop leaders within our club, and how students can themselves recognise their potential to lead in different areas of their life. Designed for year 10/11/12, but can be tailored to lower High School.

Employment in the Sporting Industry: Provides students with skills and knowledge about different avenues within the sporting industry, as well as techniques and advice on how to gain employment. Designed for year 10/11/12
