The West Coast Eagles have teamed up with Playbk Sports to bring fans and athletes across Western Australia closer to the game through a new e-learning and fitness platform called Eagles Active.

The platform offers content delivered by players and experts to support education and physical activity. There are two free and innovative online program available, Eagles Active Academy (for junior footballers) and Freestyle Footy (for teachers) .

Whether you are a teacher, student, or young athlete, you'll find engaging resources to enhance your skills, stay active, and feel connected no matter where you are.

Eagles Active Academy

Junior Footballer Program

Unlock free, on-demand training from West Coast Eagles players and coaches. The Eagles Active Academy delivers three fun and interactive courses covering nutrition, strength and conditioning and football skills, to help junior footballers take their game to the next level.

The program is delivered by West Coast Eagles experts including AFL and AFLW stars, Luke Shuey, Tim Kelly and Bella Lewis, and features exclusive content from the inner sanctum of an elite sporting club.

Developed in collaboration with experts from the club’s high performance and academy programs including  former West Coast captain Steve Malaxos, AFLW High Performance Manager Wes Salisbury and Eagles nutritionist Emma Walkley, the content blends scientific principles with real-world football experience.

Teacher Professional Development (eLearning Course)

Bring the excitement of Aussie Rules into your classroom with Freestyle Footy, a comprehensive six-week online professional development course designed to help teachers confidently deliver an engaging and inclusive AFL program in schools.

Structured Lesson Plans and Resources
Each lesson plan features clear activities, teaching points and modifications to ensure all students can develop core Aussie Rules skills in a fun, flexible and inclusive environment.

High-Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS)
Teachers receive practical guidance on incorporating HITS to enhance student learning and engaging, ensuring lessons are both educational and enjoyable.

Curriculum and Assessment Support
Freestyle Footy aligns with the Australian Curriculum, offering direct links to content descriptors and assessment outcomes, as well as connections to the Australian Sports Commissions Literacy Framework.

Professional Learning Accreditation
To support evidence of professional learning, the course aligns with the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers, helping educators track their growth and meet professional development requirements.

Student-Led Planning Resource
Encourage students to take ownership of their learning with a student-led resource based on the SEPEP model. This framework empowers young learners to modify game rules, set goals and lead activities, fostering leadership, responsibility and a strong sense of fair play.
