Jake Waterman, the form forward of the season for Waalitj Marawar (West Coast Eagles), is among five inclusions in a 26-man squad to play Narrm (Melbourne) at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
The productive forward, who has kicked 24 goals at a neat average of three per game, has ticked the concussion protocols after entering them after the match against Essendon two weeks ago.
Also added to the squad as the competition celebrates Sir Doug Nicholls Round are veteran wingman Andrew Gaff, rebounding defender Jamaine Jones, key defender Harry Edwards and inside midfielder Jai Culley.
At least one of those players will be in the selected team when it is named tomorrow afternoon because half-forward Jack Petruccelle is out with an ankle injury and young wingman Harvey Johnston has been omitted.
Gaff, Jones, Edwards and Culley have all been named on an extended interchange bench along with experienced midfielder Dom Sheed, versatile defender Josh Rotham, forward Ryan Maric and Tyrell Dewar, who made his debut last week.
Gaff continues to push his case for a return to senior football with strong efforts in a WAFL team that is going through a tough period, while Jones was the travelling emergency last week when beaten by Collingwood.
Edwards played in round seven when Tom Barrass was serving a one-match suspension.
Should Culley be promoted, after being judged the best player for the WAFL Eagles last week, it will be his first senior match in a little over a year having suffered a ruptured ACL against Richmond in round eight (May 6) last year at the MCG.
He has produced a strong body of work and has claims for recall, especially with midfield bull Elliot Yeo missing a second match after a groin injury flared against the Bombers.
Star defender Jeremy McGovern has recovered from a heavy fall last week and has been included in the team, named in his customary position at centre half-back.
