A shining light during a difficult season for the Eagles in 2023, Hunt more than lived up to his end of the bargain after seeking a fresh start in the west from Melbourne via unrestricted free agency. The speedster added dash and dare to Adam Simpson’s side playing on a wing and across half-back, appearing in all 23 games and finishing fourth in the John Worsfold Medal. Hunt ranked third at the club for rebound and inside 50s, showing his value to the Eagles’ ball movement. He was unlucky to miss out on the Demons’ 2021 premiership due to an ankle injury and will be an important member of the turnaround to contention for finals again at West Coast.
