The West Coast Eagles confirm that forward Liam Ryan has committed to the club until the end of the 2026 season.

The 2018 premiership forward signed the agreement before the squad went on their Christmas break but the club waited until the AFL ticked off the details of the contract before revealing the contract extension.

Already signed for the upcoming 2024 season the two-year extension means the livewire forward will be an Eagle for a further three seasons.

“As we do with all contracts we wait for the formal approval from the AFL which we expect in coming days,” said General Manager Football Gavin Bell.

“Unfortunately, Liam suffered a significant hamstring injury that required surgery in the first session after the break.

“We expect Liam to begin the first phase of his rehabilitation by returning to light duties this week and we anticipate he will be available in the early rounds of the season.

“While the injury is disappointing in the short term, our club believes Liam has much to offer over the next three years and look forward to having him back as a key member of our team.”
