Due to a number of players entering the AFL's Health and Safety protocols, the West Coast Eagles' match against Collingwood will not proceed as planned.

The round five game was scheduled for Tuesday evening at Victoria Park, but will be re-fixtured due to limited player availability.

The club was unable to meet the minimum team requirements of 16 primary listed players and five top-up players as per the AFLW COVID Match Rescheduling Guidelines.

The players' health and safety remains paramount, with the club working closely with the AFL and Victorian Government to ensure the team's wellbeing is the first priority.

“The health and safety of our staff and players is paramount, we will take the time for players to be 100% ready to play - this will not be compromised,” General Manager of Community and Game Development, Richard O'Connell said.

“Head Coach Michael Prior and Head of High Performance Wesley Salisbury fully understand we are in unchartered waters and collectively need to be agile to deliver the season.

“We sincerely thank Collingwood for their understanding and remain excited to go head-to-head in the coming weeks.

“Several of our players and staff received their booster shots today and over the coming weeks everyone will have received their third immunization. This continues to be a vital element of defence from COVID.”
