National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements of First Nations people and explore how we can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The theme 'Be a Voice for Generations' encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise.

The West Coast Eagles and the club's community staff have been immersed in National Reconciliation Week activities throughout the last few days. 

As we celebrate NRW, we take a look at this year's First Nations activities: 

Staff and players participate in a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country by Uncle Simon Forrest.

Many footy clinics with Community Coordinator Gabby Moran in the Goldfields.

Rick the Rock visits the Worlds Biggest Play Day in Port Hedland with Youth Engagement Coordinator Claudia Bailey.

AFLW players Aisling McCarthy and Krstel Petrevski join the Eagles community team Janelle Marangon, Bradd Dalziell and Sam Rotham in Moora for the annual Moora Bed Race and Street Festival.

Weekly fun with Clontarf Aboriginal College students, including painting boots for SDNR with Krstel Petrevski and kicking the footy with Jamaine Jones and Samo Petrevski-Seton. 

The regional team take part in Port Hedland's Youth Week Camp and Colour Run.

Our Night Lights Eagles Freestyle Footy Program gets underway in Port Hedland.

Eagles staff and players met with Pat Farmer for a mayoral reception at Optus Stadium in support of his Run for the Voice.

The round nine Pilbara Regional Curtain Raiser took place at Optus Stadium including Martu players from the Western Desert, supported by Ngurra Kujungka.

Our Sir Doug Nicholls Round activities at home included a Curtain Raiser featuring the Waalitj Foundation's Deadly Sista Girlz and Welcome to Country before the match.

Newman Youth Engagement Coordinator Brendon Daily attends the Reconciliation Week Breakfast in Newman with the Shire of East Pilbara.

Community staff Sam Rotham, Jackson Nelson and Brendon Daily take part in the Newman Street Blitz.
