The West Coast Eagles had a successful hitout against the Fremantle Dockers in a training simulation at Mineral Resources Park on Saturday morning.

The cross-town rivals fielded 14 players each, taking part in six eight-minute quarters.

Lauren Wakfer was excellent in the ruck, holding her position well, providing second and third efforts around the contest, and took a strong, goal-saving mark on the goal line in the fourth quarter.

Rising star Ella Roberts was outstanding, displaying impressive aerial work, taking solid marks and providing drive and aggression around the ground, and kicked West Coast’s first goal in the opening term.

It was a positive outing from West Coast, clean ball movement, composure and tackling pressure all on show throughout the simulation.

The Eagles produced great contest work and teamwork in what was a physical hitout from both sides.

Mikayla Western finished with three majors, including a cracking snap from deep in the pocket in the final quarter.

Defending duo Charlie Thomas and Mackenzie Webb both impressed, Thomas showing her incredible footy smarts, constantly positioning herself in right place at the right time, while Webb was tough and relentless in the back half.
