After a sublime victory against Narrm (Melbourne) last Sunday there was going to be at least one unlucky player at the selection table this week. That player is Luke Edwards.

With champion midfielder Elliot Yeo a probable inclusion for Waalitj Marawar for this week’s match against Kuwarna (Adelaide) at Adelaide Oval someone would need to make way.

Edwards, a developing midfielder playing a critical team role that is not measured purely on statistics, stayed in Perth and will play for the WAFL Eagles against Claremont while Yeo returns after a two-game absence with a slight groin strain.

Yeo is an automatic inclusion, particularly given his impact in the first third of the season, where his grunt work in the middle has been supreme.

While it is a case of one for one, 2023 draftee Clay Hall travelled with the squad today as the emergency.

Selected at No.38 last November, Hall is an impressive inside midfielder with a penetrating left leg and he is clearly edging closer to a senior debut.
