In positive news, West Coast Eagles defender Annabel Johnson is making strong strides in her recovery from a knee arthroscope.

“Annabel has made awesome progress post-surgery, so she’s now back running, changing direction and kicking,” High Performance Manager Sam Batterton said.

“Annabel will integrate into group training this week and will hopefully continue to make great strides in her rehab.”

Experienced defender Belinda Smith is edging closer to availability as she continues her recovery from a quad setback.

“Belinda’s made good progress with her rehab," Batterton said.

"She’s integrating back into training this week and will look to build her training volumes."

Midfielder Sanne Bakker remains sidelined as she recovers from illness.

“Sanne is still battling illness and won’t be available this week, her timeline is yet to be confirmed.” Batterton said.

Defender Lucy Boyd is also closing in on a return from an ankle injury and is a chance to face Yartapuulti (Port Adelaide) this weekend.

“Lucy has also made good progress with her ankle injury," Batterton said.

"She’s running and changing direction at good speed and will rejoin training this week."

In other injury news, young defender Beth Schilling has begun her rehabilitation following surgery on her foot last week.

“The surgery went really well," Batterton said.

"Beth will rest and recover before getting back into the club to begin her rehab process in the coming weeks.”
