West Coast Eagles defender Emma Swanson will miss round six against Melbourne after being charged by the MRO for an incident in Sunday's seven-point loss to Fremantle.

Swanson was charged with striking Fremantle's Gabrielle O'Sullivan in the second quarter.

The incident was deemed Intentional Conduct, Low Impact and High Contact, with a one-match sanction offered and accepted by the Eagles.

There was no option for a reduced sanction with an early plea.
