Coming fresh off reaching premiership glory in 2024, the full squad returned to the court once again to put in a strong performance in round one of season 2025.

The Eagles led at all breaks with the firepower up forward proving too great for East Perth with the final score being 11.13 (79) to 7.5 (47).

It was the backline early in the piece that helped build a strong lead, with the defensive units holding East Perth to just three points at half-time.

The ball movement from end-to-end was a highlight from the day, with some quick passing leading to multiple early shots on goal for the forwards.

Reigning club best-and-fairest winner Paul Whitehurst put in a dominant display up forward with his overhead marking ability on show and his deadeye accuracy in front of the big sticks leading to six goals for the match.

The squad were tested in the third but proved too strong in the end for a competitive East Perth outfit who never stopped fighting until the final siren.

The Eagles WAWFL squad returns to the court this upcoming Sunday with two matches against Swan Districts (12pm) and new entrant into the competition in Peel Thunder (2pm).
