Brandon Starcevich is officially a West Coast Eagle after the Club today landed the dual premiership player in a three-way trade.

Starcevich returns home to Western Australia after eight seasons and 132 games with Brisbane.

The three-way trade involving the Lions and Fremantle also sees the Eagles receive picks 12, 33 and 52 in this year’s Telstra AFL Draft while parting with selections 16, 22 and 23.

An uncompromising backman, Starcevich played pivotal roles in the Lions’ back-to-back Grand Final victories and will be an impactful addition to the Eagles’ defensive stocks.

The 26-year-old has signed a four-year deal at West Coast.

“Brandon is a dual premiership player who will be a significant addition to our backline with his experience, toughness and ability to shut down the opposition’s most dangerous small and medium-sized forwards,” Head of List Management and Recruiting Matt Clarke said.

“He is also an outstanding team-first player and leader who will help drive our developing squad forward and impart his knowledge about what it takes to be successful.

“We have been clear in our strategy to target experienced, quality players and people to bolster our list and Brandon is another proven recruit who we are thrilled to bring into our Club.”

The Eagles currently hold selections No. 1, 12, 33, 37, 52 and 57 in next month’s national draft with a week remaining in the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period, powered by Tyrepower.
