The West Coast Eagles recently welcomed internationally renowned Sports Physiotherapist and performance specialist Enda King to the club as part of an ongoing commitment to elite athlete development and injury prevention.

King, who holds a PhD and MSc and currently serves as Head of Elite Performance and Development at Aspetar in Doha, Qatar, combines expertise in physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, research, and education.

His work spans multiple sports and disciplines, supporting athletes and professional teams around the globe.

King was in Perth to speak at the Lower Limb Rehabilitation Symposium, where he joined leading practitioners to share insights on managing and reconditioning lower limb injuries.

During his visit, he spent time embedded within the Eagles’ high-performance program, collaborating closely with players, medical staff, and conditioning coaches.

“It was great to spend time at the West Coast Eagles’ world-class facility, working with their players and high-performance staff,” King said.

“Having previously studied in Perth, it felt like coming back to my second home. The chance to collaborate and share knowledge with the team was mutually valuable.”

King’s involvement extended beyond the symposium, offering hands-on guidance and strategic input to enhance player rehabilitation programs and support the professional development of the club’s medical and conditioning staff.

“I’m confident that my time with the Eagles will help strengthen the foundations for the club’s future success,” King added.

West Coast Eagles Head Physiotherapist Steve Allan further highlighted the significance of King’s visit.

“Over the past three to four years, we’ve developed a strong relationship with Enda and have seen great results,” Allan said.

“Not only did we have him working with our players and staff, but he also shared his knowledge with other practitioners across Perth. It was a great chance to elevate the conversation around lower limb rehabilitation.”

“To take it to the next level this year and have him embedded in our program was a huge opportunity.

“He’s one of the leading practitioners in this space, and his knowledge is a tremendous asset to the club and the players’ development.”
