The West Cost Eagles have acquired versatile wing Ella Slocombe after reaching a trade with North Melbourne.

The 20-year-old Claremont product has landed at the Eagles in exchange for pick 48 in the 2025 AFLW Draft, with West Coast also receiving a 2026 fourth round selection, tied to Richmond.

Slocombe combines blistering speed with elite endurance, making her a threat both at stoppages and inside 50, and her ability to impact games in multiple roles has already turned heads.

After earning her debut with North Melbourne in 2025, Slocombe showcased the traits that made her so highly rated, with clean hands, explosive burst from contests, and a knack for finding space.

A product of the WA talent pathway, Slocombe consistently demonstrates her ability to break lines and apply scoreboard pressure.

“We’re really pleased to secure Ella Slocombe and bring her home to WA,” AFLW List Manager Jordan Loxley said.

“We’ve always been fans of Ella, and while opportunities were limited for her at North Melbourne, when she did play she looked extremely comfortable at the level.

“We were keen to add speed and genuine running power to our squad, and Ella fits that need perfectly.

“This deal also allows us to add an extra pick in next year’s draft, giving us greater flexibility as we head into 2026 and continue to shape our list.”
