As part of All the Way West, the club continues to recognise a Member of the Round at every West Coast Eagles home and away match in 2026, celebrating the members who show up with unwavering commitment year after year.

For this week’s Member of the Round, we proudly recognise Jodie, whose West Coast Eagles journey spans nearly four decades and is defined by loyalty, family and showing up no matter the conditions.

A family tradition, 37 years strong

For Jodie, being a West Coast Eagles member is deeply personal and shared.

“It means so much to me and my family,” she says. “For 37 years we have been going to every home game. Win or lose, we are there supporting the boys.”

Rain, hail or shine, Jodie, her dad and her brother are in their seats, even when the weather turns foul.

“In torrential rain we still sit out in the open,” she says. “We have a little motto: ‘If they have to be out in this weather, so can we!’”

That level of commitment extends well beyond match day. Family holidays are booked around home fixtures, and even major life events are planned with the fixture in mind.

“Even my brother’s wedding was organised around the fixture in advance,” she says.

A grand final forever etched in memory

If Jodie could relive one moment in Eagles history, it would be her first visit to football’s biggest stage.

“The 2006 Grand Final at the MCG,” she says. “We were in the very last row of the massive stand and couldn’t go any higher. Probably the worst seats, but we didn’t care.”

What mattered was the atmosphere, the rivalry and the tension of watching a game that could have gone either way.

“Seeing your team win by only a few points and take the cup home was the best day of my life,” she says.

Game day, done her way

Jodie’s matchday routine is built around soaking it all in.

“I always like to get there early,” she says. “I always bet on the first goal kicked, watch the Eagles warming up and chat to all the members around our area, people we’ve gotten to know over the years.”

It’s a ritual built on connection, familiarity and belonging.

Eyes on the now

Among the current playing group, Jodie loves watching Jake ‘the Snake’ Waterman, with Reuben Ginbey not far behind.

“I love watching Jake the Snake,” she says. “Reuben is a close second.”

A simple message

If Jodie could send one message to the team before they run out, it would be short and full of belief.

“Shine. You know you’ve got this!”

Through All the Way West, members like Jodie remind us what true commitment looks like. Decades of support, shared with family, built around belief and carried proudly through every season.
