As part of All the Way West, the club continues to recognise a Member of the Round at every West Coast Eagles home and away match in 2026, celebrating the members whose dedication and belief sustain the club through every chapter.
For Round 8, we’re proud to name Tara as our Member of the Round, a supporter whose love for the Eagles is built on family, tradition and sticking with the team through every high and low.
Belonging and connection
For Tara, being a West Coast Eagles member is about the feeling that comes with being part of something bigger.
“Some of my best memories are watching games at my Aunty’s house with my big Greek family and everyone coming together, sharing the highs and lows, and just enjoying being around each other,” she says. “It made the weekends so special, and being a member now keeps those feelings and memories alive.”
A finish that stopped time
If Tara could relive one moment in Eagles history, she wouldn’t hesitate.
“I’d relive the 2006 Grand Final against Sydney Swans,” she says. “It’s a game that has always stuck with me, watching it unfold, feeling every second of that one-point game. Those last few minutes felt like they went on forever, with my heart absolutely racing. I was completely speechless for once and taking it all in. The excitement and joy at the final siren is something I’ll never forget.”
Hotdogs, a lucky seat and a post-win concert
Tara’s game day traditions are locked in, and they start with the right colours.
“I always wear my Eagles gear, that’s a non-negotiable,” she says. “If I’m at the game I’m getting a hotdog, no exceptions. If I’m at home, I’m making the hotdogs and locking into my good luck seat like it actually controls the outcome. And if we win, I turn my living room into a one-person celebration concert, singing the team song like I’ve just won the game myself.”
Hard at it, every contest
Looking at the current list, Tara loves the players who throw themselves into the contest and look like they belong at the level.
“Reuben Ginbey,” she says. “I love how hard he goes every game and how he never backs out of a contest, no matter what. He already plays with so much maturity and feels like such a reliable part of the team. I’m also really excited about Willem Duursma, you can already see how good he is and how much potential he has.”
A reminder of what it’s all for
If Tara could send one message to the group before they run out, it would be simple and powerful.
“Go out there and play with heart and enjoy it. No matter the result, we’re behind you,” she says. “We love seeing the effort and fight, especially during the tough times. It’s what makes those big wins so special when they come around, because of the whole journey that leads up to them.”
Through All the Way West, members like Tara show that supporting the Eagles is about family, tradition and bringing the same belief every week, no matter the challenge.
