As part of All the Way West, the club continues to recognise a Member of the Round at every West Coast Eagles home and away match in 2026, celebrating the people who stand strong with the club through every moment.
For Round 9, we proudly spotlight LB, a passionate supporter who embodies the loyalty and pride that defines the West Coast Eagles community.
Where it all began
For LB, being a West Coast Eagles member is about belonging to something bigger.
“Being a member of the West Coast Eagles means being part of a passionate and loyal group of fans that stick together, especially during tough times,” LB says.
That shared connection is what makes the club special.
“Being part of a club where fans turn up year in and year out in large numbers makes me proud to be a member of the biggest club in the competition.”
It is a pride built not only on success, but on commitment, resilience and a supporter base that never wavers.
A moment etched in time
When asked to relive one moment in club history, LB does not hesitate.
The 2006 Grand Final.
“What a game,” LB says. “The skill, the intensity, the players, the nail-biting margin, and that fierce rivalry with Sydney.”
It was a contest that had everything, right down to one of the most iconic passages of play in AFL history.
“‘Kick smothered… Chick… Hunter!’” LB recalls.
“It definitely wasn’t great for the heart rate, but it was worth every second.”
Game day rituals
For LB, game day is all about building the energy from the first moment.
“My game day traditions start off with deciding which jersey I will wear among the collection I have,” LB says.
From there, it is full focus on getting into the right mindset.
“As I get ready for the game, I’ll blast the Eagles theme song, on repeat to get pumped.”
Arriving early is also part of the ritual.
“I always make an effort to get to the game before the bounce to embrace the atmosphere and build up to the first bounce.”
Eyes on the future
LB sees plenty to be excited about in the current squad.
“We’ve got an exciting mix of emerging talent and experienced players guiding the way,” LB says.
“Young guns like Reid and Duursma bring energy, flair and passion. That’s exactly what a rebuilding club needs.”
It is a group that represents what comes next.
“Alongside the rest of our promising talent, they represent a bright future for the club.”
A message to the team
If given the chance to address the players before they run out, LB’s message is simple and powerful.
“Wear the jumper with pride and embrace the opportunity to play for the biggest club in the competition.”
