Archer Reid is set to return to action this weekend after building strongly across the past week following his knee complaint in round six.
The developing tall was close to returning last round, but the club opted to give him additional conditioning before resuming.
“Archer was really close last week, but we just felt he needed a little more conditioning underneath him before returning,” High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said.
“He was able to get a really good game-like loading session in, so he is well set up now for a successful return.”
Tyler Brockman is also tracking towards a return and is expected to feature at WAFL level on managed minutes.
“’Brocky’ has shown a lot in training, so as long as he can get through this week’s sessions, we will see him on managed minutes at WAFL this week,” Merriman said.
There is encouraging progress for Jack Graham, who has made strong strides in his recovery from a shoulder injury and is now listed as two-to-three weeks from returning.
“Jack has really progressed strongly over the last two weeks, which has put him ahead of schedule,” Merriman said.
Jamie Cripps remains under assessment as the club continues to monitor his knee injury, while Jack Hutchinson is progressing well in his recovery from a hamstring issue.
“We are still waiting for ‘Crippa’s’ knee to settle, but he is getting stuck into his gym work,” Merriman said.
“‘Hutch’ has progressed well and is up and running with good intensity.
“He will move through the gears this week, and we will have to make a decision as to whether he returns pre or post-bye.”
Sam Allen has returned to the club environment and begun his rehabilitation following his hamstring surgery.
“Sam has started his gym work back at the club,” Merriman said.
“He is a very diligent athlete and is already working hard.”
Harry Edwards remains in recovery following concussion, with the club prioritising his health and wellbeing.
“We will be following a process to make sure we get the best care that Harry needs before considering what the next step in his football is going to be,” Merriman said.
