For Round 16, we’re proud to celebrate Nick, a passionate and loyal supporter whose lifelong connection to the blue and gold stretches right back to the club’s earliest days.
A lifelong passion
For Nick, being a West Coast Eagles member isn’t just support — it’s something much deeper.
“Being a West Coast Eagles member means everything to me,” he says.
Having followed the club since 1986, Nick has lived every moment of the journey.
“It’s about being a part of a great team, showing loyalty through every high and low and sharing in the passion of the club’s rich history,” he says. “Being a member gives me a sense of belonging, pride and connection, knowing that my support helps strengthen the club and contribute to its future success.”
Moments that stay with you
When it comes to unforgettable memories, Nick doesn’t hesitate.
“The 2018 Grand Final,” he says.
Unable to secure tickets, Nick brought the experience home — hosting 25 family and friends for a BBQ to watch the game together.
“At the end of the first quarter, I remember being upset and walked away from the TV,” he recalls. “But in the second quarter they called me back in, and I started handing out my West Coast caps, scarves, jerseys and t-shirts for everyone to wear.”
Then came the moment.
“The one I’d relive again and again was when Dom Sheed kicked the best goal ever that won us the Grand Final,” he says.
“I even had it taped and watched it every second day for the next 12 months — I couldn’t get enough. We were all jumping up and cheering like we were at the game.”
Match day, Nick style
Game day for Nick is all about showing his colours and backing the team, wherever they are.
“I wear my West Coast Eagles gear and attend every game in Victoria, and I’m also a cheer squad member,” he says.
When the team is playing interstate, the ritual continues at home.
“We watch dressed fully in West Coast gear, and whenever we can, we travel to Optus Stadium to watch live — the atmosphere is amazing.”
Win or lose, Nick’s commitment never wavers.
“I always support the team from start to finish and enjoy the experience with other Eagles fans.”
A rising star to watch
Nick’s excitement extends to the current playing group, with two young Eagles catching his eye.
“Reuben Ginbey — I feel he’s a pillar for the defence,” he says.
“And Jobe Shanahan, who I think will be an outstanding future goal scorer for the team.”
With both players continuing to develop, Nick sees plenty to look forward to.
A message to the team
Nick’s message to the players is simple and full of belief: “Keep the faith and momentum strong — and go get the game!”
Through All the Way West, members like Nick remind us that being part of the Eagles community goes far beyond game day. It’s about loyalty, connection and the shared passion that unites the blue and gold, no matter where you are.
