Experienced midfielder Tim Kelly is expected to be available for selection against Adelaide on Friday night at Optus Stadium.

Kelly missed the trip to face Carlton due to a hamstring complaint sustained at training last Thursday.

“Tim experienced some tightness in his hamstring in the last session of the week,” High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said.

“We obviously made the decision not to risk him. He is on track to complete all of training this week and be available for selection.”

Tyler Brockman is also a test after missing the WAFL clash with East Perth due to hamstring tightness.

“Brocky was close to playing last week after developing some hamstring tightness,” Merriman said.

“Given his lack of training volume over the season we made the decision not to risk him. He will be a test this week.”

Draftee Cooper Duff-Tytler will undergo further assessment after missing the final term in Saturday's clash with Carlton due to calf soreness.

“Cooper felt some tightness in his calf in the third quarter against Carlton on the weekend,” Merriman said.

“We are letting his calf settle and once he begins his run program, we will have a clearer understanding of timeframes.”

In a positive development, Harry Edwards is expected to resume full training when pre-season begins later this year.

Edwards was assessed by the AFL Concussion Panel last Thursday and will undergo a specialist rehabilitation program.

“Harry attended the AFL Concussion Panel last Thursday and the decision was made to give him more time to recover from his concussions earlier this year,” Merriman said.

“Pleasingly, we will look to have Harry back into full training at the start of pre-season.”

Key defender Reuben Ginbey has commenced his return-to-run program as he continues his recovery from a quad injury, while Sam Allen continues to progress from his knee and hamstring injuries.

“Reuben has started his return to running program and will be building his volume and function over the next few weeks,” Merriman said.

“We will start to see Sam in some low-level football drills in the next week.”

Forward Archer Reid is recovering from a minor knee procedure and will be reassessed in the coming weeks.

“Archer, along with our doctors, made the decision to have a small procedure on his knee last week,” Merriman said.

“Archer will recover from surgery and then hopefully get going in a couple of weeks.”
