The West Coast Eagles have locked away one of the club’s brightest young prospects, with Archer Reid signing a three-year contract extension.
Already contracted for next year, Reid has committed to remain in blue and gold until at least the end of 2030.
Reid’s progression and exciting long-term potential have seen the Eagles move to secure the 20-year-old Victorian product’s future.
“I’m really happy to be extending my time with the club,” Reid said.
“It was an easy decision because I’ve really enjoyed being part of this group and the environment we’ve built.
“I’m excited to keep developing as a player and to continue contributing to the team’s success. I feel like we’re heading in the right direction, and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.
“The support from the coaches, staff, teammates and fans has meant a lot to me.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep representing the club, and I can’t wait to get back out there and help the team achieve our goals.”
Selected with pick No.30 in the 2023 AFL National Draft, Reid arrived at the club carrying a knee injury but quickly impressed once fit and available.
The 203cm key forward enjoyed a promising 2024 campaign at WAFL level, kicking 17 goals from 15 appearances before earning his AFL debut in round one last season under senior coach Andrew McQualter.
Reid has continued to develop across 20 AFL matches, combining his forward craft with valuable support in the ruck.
West Coast Eagles Head of List Management and Recruiting Matt Clarke said Reid’s extension reflected the club’s belief in his long-term potential.
“We are delighted to have extended Archer for a further three years beyond his contract for 2027,” Clarke said.
“Archer is an exciting developing young tall, and we were keen to secure his future at the club as he continues to build his game.
“We believe he has a bright future ahead and are thrilled to have him committed through to 2030.”
