West Coast Eagles AFLW recruit Lily Smart will miss the 2026 season after sustaining an ACL injury at training on Monday.

The athletic South Australian midfielder joined the Eagles with pick No.11 in the 2026 AFLW Pre-Season Draft two months ago.

Head of Women’s Football Michelle Cowan said the club would provide full support for Smart throughout her recovery.

“While it’s incredibly disappointing that Lily will miss the season, she has already made such a positive impact on our program,” Cowan said.

“Her character, commitment and the way she’s embraced our team have been outstanding.

“We’ll be right behind her throughout her recovery and can’t wait to see her back doing what she loves.”
