For Round 19, we're proud to celebrate Jeff, a loyal Eagles member whose love of football is built around family, tradition and sharing the game-day experience with those closest to him.
More than just a membership
For Jeff, being a West Coast Eagles member is about creating memories with family and making football a shared experience.
"I enjoy taking my family to football each home game and spending time together cheering on the team," he says.
A finish for the ages
If Jeff could relive one moment in Eagles history, the choice is an easy one.
"The West Coast Eagles defeated Port Adelaide in the 2017 Elimination Final by two points at Adelaide Oval," he recalls.
It remains one of the most dramatic finals the club has ever been involved in.
"The game went to extra time and ended with Luke Shuey kicking a goal after the siren to win the match."
Like many Eagles supporters watching that night, Jeff was on the edge of his seat until the very end.
"It was exciting to watch right up until the final second."
The little traditions that make game day special
Game day isn't complete without a few familiar traditions.
For Jeff and his family, that starts before the opening bounce.
"We always estimate the size of the crowd just before the start of the match," he says.
They also make sure to arrive with enough time to soak up the atmosphere.
"Arriving early enough to watch the players warm up."
It's a simple routine, but one that's become part of the match-day experience and helps build excitement as the countdown to the first bounce begins.
Keeping an eye on the next generation
With a young and exciting list beginning to emerge, Jeff is particularly excited by the development of Willem Duursma.
"Willem Duursma is a player with a promising future ahead," he says.
What stands out most is the way the young Eagle continues to grow with every opportunity.
"He reads the play well, getting more confident with his skills each week and having greater impact."
A message to the team
If Jeff had the chance to address the players before they ran out, his message would be equal parts practical advice and encouragement.
"Back your first instinct, trust the bloke next to you, and if you make a mistake, don't stand there looking like you've just lost your car keys."
For Jeff, the key is responding to setbacks and staying involved in the contest.
"Chase, pressure, and get involved in the next contest."
Above all, he wants the players to enjoy the opportunity they've worked so hard to earn.
"Most importantly, enjoy it. There are thousands of people who'd love to be in your boots today. You've earned the chance, so play hard, have a laugh, celebrate the little wins, and leave absolutely nothing in the tank."
Through All the Way West, members like Jeff remind us that some of football's greatest moments happen off the field. Whether it's bringing family together, reliving unforgettable victories, embracing game-day traditions or backing the club's next generation, it's the passion and dedication of members that continues to unite the blue and gold community.
