West Coast Eagles midfield star Harley Reid is set to be available for Friday night’s Western Derby.
Reid’s ankle was stood on by a Brisbane opponent in the first quarter on Saturday night, but the 21-year-old has recovered well and is set to take his place against Fremantle.
“Harley has jumped into the week really well, showing his professionalism,” High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said.
“He has completed all that we have asked of him and will be available to play.”
Tough forward Jack Hutchinson has been confirmed for a short stint on the sidelines after sustaining hamstring damage in the opening minutes against the Lions.
“Hutch sustained a hamstring injury after getting pushed in the back after a marking contest,” Merriman said.
“It’s really disappointing for Jack, but he will be working to get back before the end of the season.”
In promising developments, Josh Lindsay (quad), Cooper Duff-Tytler (calf), Malakai Champion (hand) and Harry Barnett (groin) are pushing to be available this round.
“Cooper and Josh completed a solid session on the weekend, and both have had good sessions today,” Merriman said.
“Josh has ticked every box in order to be available for selection this week.
“Malakai is a test to play following surgery on his hand.
“Harry completed a good week of training. He will look to complete training on Thursday to be available for the weekend.”
Sam Allen and Reuben Ginbey continue to build as they progress through their respective rehabilitation programs.
“Sam is continuing to build into football. We will continue to monitor how he is progressing and make a call on his return in the next few weeks,” Merriman said.
“Reuben continues to build his speed and volume at training.”
