For Round 22, we’re proud to celebrate Aaron, a loyal Eagles member whose unwavering support, optimism and passion for the Eagles embodies what it means to be All the Way West.
Standing together
For Aaron, being a West Coast Eagles member is about much more than attending games. It's about feeling connected to the club and supporting the team through thick and thin.
"Being a member makes me feel like part of the team, especially when they are struggling and need our support the most," he says.
That sense of belonging is what makes supporting the Eagles so special for Aaron. Rather than seeing himself as a spectator, he views himself as part of the Club's journey.
"It makes me feel proud when I talk about the team and can say 'us' and 'we' instead of 'them' and 'they'. We are stronger together, all the way west."
A special farewell
If Aaron could relive one moment in Eagles history, he would choose a moment that celebrated one of the club's modern-day greats.
"The moment I would choose to relive would be Josh Kennedy's last goal at home.”
While the result didn't go the Eagles' way, Aaron remembers the emotion and atmosphere surrounding the occasion.
"Although we didn't win, the feeling of getting to send him off with the roar of the crowd and all the boys getting around him just felt really special, the finish to a stellar career that he deserved."
For Aaron, it was a fitting tribute to a champion player whose impact on the Club will never be forgotten.
The journey to Optus Stadium
Like many Eagles members, Aaron's match-day experience is built around traditions that have become part of the weekly ritual.
"On game day I am always excited, and like to make my way in nice and early.”
After a quick stop for a meal and a drink pre-game, Aaron takes in one of the best walks in the AFL.
"I love the walk across Matagarup Bridge, looking at our amazing stadium."
He also remembers fondly one of the iconic pre-game sights that entertained Eagles fans for years.
"I used to really enjoy Auzzie's flight around the ground."
Stand out effort
When it comes to the current playing group, Bailey Williams is the player Aaron enjoys watching most.
"Bailey Williams always excites me with his effort," he says.
Aaron admires Williams' willingness to compete and his commitment to the team-first actions that can often go unnoticed.
"He works really hard to make every contest and commits himself to those one- percenters that make all the difference."
Aaron is hopeful that Williams' hard work will continue to be rewarded as the team progresses.
"Hopefully he can get some wins on his tally as reward for his consistency and dedication. So glad he got locked in with a long-term contract."
A message of belief
If Aaron had one message for the players before they ran out this week, it would be simple: keep believing.
"The message I would send to the team is to block out the critics."
Aaron believes the group's improvement throughout the season has been significant and that success is not far away.
"Their progress has been huge this year, and the success they deserve is just around the corner."
Through members like Aaron, the spirit of All the Way West continues to shine. His passion, loyalty and unwavering belief in the club demonstrate exactly why the Eagles community remains one of the strongest in the AFL.
