A time of mystery and mythology, guests were taken back to a time when pharaohs walked the earth and gods ruled the sky to experience the 2013 West Coast Eagles Gala Auction.

During pre-dinner drinks, West Coast players mingled with guests and handed out auction catalogues, which outlined the incredible range of items available for auction, including over 250 in the silent auction.
Guests made the most of the theme and took part in some pre-dinner activities, including ‘Fish Like an Egyptian’ and the lucky balloon drop.
Once formalities commenced, chairman Alan Cransberg addressed the audience, focusing on the importance of the club’s community programs, particularly as we head into AFL Indigenous Round this weekend.
Senior coach John Worsfold was also welcomed onto the stage by MC ‘Pharaoh’ Karl Langdon for an in-depth interview, discussing Nic Naitanui’s heroics in the North Melbourne clash the night before.
Nic himself then joined Karl to introduce a bonus auction item which was a signed match ball from Friday night’s encounter. After some spirited bidding, the ball was sold for $4,000.
Auctioneer extraordinaire Tiny Holy had his work cut out for him this evening, and another bidding war was waged for the ‘Brownlow Medal Red Carpet’ experience, which was eventually won by David Kais of Kais Contractors for $17,000.
With all auction items accounted for, Perth’s favourite soul band, Stratosfunk, then took to the stage and guests were ready to dance the night away, eager to celebrate West Coast’s electrifying two-point victory over the Kangaroos.
