West Coast’s 2018 grand final triumph over Collingwood has been voted the best VFL/AFL game of the past 50 years.

After thousands of fans cast their votes in a recent Fox Footy poll, the Eagles’ dramatic come-from-behind performance to secure the club’s fourth premiership sat atop the list of 50 stirring contests.

The 2018 season decider edged the Western Bulldogs’ pulsating 2016 Preliminary Final win over Greater Western Sydney to take out top spot.

The boys sit down and talk through the memorable day that was September 29 and winning the 2018 Premiership.

And it wasn’t the only West Coast grand final victory to feature in the top 50 list.

The club’s heart-stopping 2006 grand final win over arch rivals Sydney was voted the seventh best contest of since 1970.

Our 2005 loss to the Swans ranked fifth in the countdown too, but we needn’t dwell on that.

Other West Coast games to feature in the top 50 list included the club’s memorable 2017 Elimination Final win over Port Adelaide (15th); our Round 3, 2004 encounter with Essendon (29th); the 1990 Qualifying Final versus Collingwood that resulted in a dramatic draw (35th), and the infamous Round 21, 2000 demolition derby versus crosstown foes Fremantle (41st).
