The children at Wingellina Remote Community School in the Western Desert received a special surprise in the mail this week, with a donation from the West Coast Eagles brightening their school day.

Eagles members Jean and Michael Gray contacted the club to organise the donation after speaking with their daughter, Chloe King, who is a teacher at the remote school.

She told them that her students were all footy mad, but had no equipment with which to practise their skills, so her parents turned to the West Coast Eagles for help.

Luckily, the package of balls, guernseys, hats, footy cards posters arrived a week before school holidays start.

Chloe said the students were delighted to receive such a special gift.

“Words cannot describe the excitement on the children's faces when they received all of their footy gear,” Chloe said.
