Defender Will Schofield poked a bit of fun at team mate Oscar Allen in the latest episode of Eagles Media podcast Coast to Coast suggesting the home fans were a factor in one of the Eagles most accurate scores in club history.

It was the first home crowd of the season for the Eagles who booted 18.3 and nailed key set shots from tough positions near the boundary throughout the 66 point win.

“The home crowd definitely helped us and we could hear them behind our backs, anyone who was there, thank you,” Allen remarked.

“Is that why blokes kicked so well for goal?” Schofield fired back.

“We do a lot of work on goal kicking but I have never seen us kick goals like that before,” Allen replied.

Allen goes onto explain how much the mental side of the game goes into set shot kicking.
