The search for a passionate supporter in a photograph has resulted in a new no.1 junior ticket-holder for the West Coast Eagles.

Two weeks ago, the club posted a picture on their website, hoping to identify the young boy wearing a West Coast guernsey in a sea of Fremantle supporters.

The photograph struck a chord with West Coast Communications Manager (and one-eyed Eagles supporter) Gary Stocks, who thought the incredibly brave fan deserved a reward for his passion and loyalty. Click here to view the picture.

On Monday, Zack Basilio’s family contacted the club with the boy they were looking for.

Twelve-year-old Zack is an avid Eagles supporter, enduring Fremantle games with his dad Joe, a Dockers member, by wearing his West Coast guernsey to every fixture.

The young fan was invited to the club this afternoon and captain Darren Glass gave him the good news, presenting Zack with a no.1 guernsey with his name printed on the back.

Zack has been made a Rookie Eagles member and is looking forward to watching the players warm up before the Port game on Sunday afternoon.

He will also be the club’s guest of honour at the upcoming Rookie Eagles Coaching Clinic where he will be introduced to the other Rookie members as their no.1 ticket-holder and have the chance to train with his favourite players.

Well done Zack and welcome to the club!
