A high-flying mid-season recruit, Hutchinson built strongly on his 2024 introduction to AFL level, backing up his promising debut year with an expanded role throughout 2025. After being drafted from Collingwood’s VFL program and Wonthaggi, he continued to demonstrate the athletic marking, speed and competitiveness that first drew the Eagles’ interest. Hutchinson featured in 16 AFL games in 2025, spending most of his time on a wing where his endurance and aerial ability added balance to West Coast’s developing midfield group. He showed encouraging growth in his second season, adapting well to the increased demands and responsibility at senior level before a late season hamstring injury interrupted his momentum.
