Had a strong pre-season with his pace, strength and athleticism earning himself an AFL debut in the season opener. Performed well in the opening three games, including booting three goals against the Bulldogs in round two, before a serious ankle injury forced him to the sidelines. Returned to the team in round 16 and never surrendered his position, using his pace to pressure opposition defenders and in setting up Eagles attacking forays. Played the best game of his career in the preliminary final win and played his role on grand final day earning himself a premiership medal in his second year.
