Kelly's second season in blue and gold had plenty of highs but he couldn't escape the club's run of bad injury luck. At his best, the smooth-moving midfielder was simply sublime, with his touch of class around stoppages and clinical delivery inside 50 offering an attacking weapon for the Eagles and making him a regular target for opposition taggers. Arguably his best performance for the club came in the first RAC Derby of last season, when the South Fremantle product racked up 42 disposals and 13 clearances to take home the Glendinning-Allan Medal, but he was struck down by a nasty knee injury in round 11 against Essendon and had to gradually rebuild his fitness. The silky onballer managed 19 appearances last year and looms as a key to West Coast’s fortunes in 2022. At a Glance Junior clubs: Palmyra (WA) Clubs: Geelong Debut: 2018 Recruited from: South Fremantle Brownlow votes: 58
