Recruited from Swan Districts Football Club, West Coast’s first official singing Mikayla Bowen has a string of accolades to her name including captaining Western Australia at the 2019 Under 18 National Championships. As well as this, Bowen received All Australian honours at the completion of the Championships and Western Australia's best and fairest award after averaging 19 disposals, four tackles and seven clearances. Bowen debuted in West Coast's inaugural AFLW match against Collingwood, and quickly became a mainstay in the Eagles' midfield. In her second AFLW season, the 20-year-old was nominated for a 2021 AFL Women's Rising Star award against Gold Coast in round five, and was also named in the AFLW All Australian squad.
