After another strong pre-season, tore his adductor on the eve of round one and was again stuck in the rehab group. Had to work his way back through the WAFL due to the strong form of Nic Naitanui and Scott Lycett in the Eagles' side. When Naitanui ruptured his ACL in round 17, Vardy had a permanent spot and never left the side, ultimately playing a key role in the Eagles' grand final win.
