Barnett continued to develop across 2024 and 2025, adding to his AFL experience with an appearance in round two, 2024 against Greater Western Sydney before spending both seasons strengthening his ruck craft in the WAFL. Throughout 2025, he delivered consistent state league performances, including strong hit out numbers and solid disposal and marking contributions across multiple rounds. Though he did not feature at AFL level in 2025, his WAFL progression has positioned him as a genuine contender for more senior opportunities in 2026.Barnett is capable of taking a mark inside 50, impacting around the ground and possesses the running ability to compete with some of the most athletic rucks in the game.
