After spending five years with Greater Western Sydney, Perth local Aimee Schmidt joined West Coast as a free agent in 2021. The 29-year-old emerged as one of the sides top attackers coming away as season six’s leading goal scorer with seven majors that resulted in her finishing sixth of the club champion standings for that year. In season seven Schmidt got off to her scoring ways early kicking three of her five total goals for the season in the first two rounds of the competition playing particularly well against Essendon in round two where the forward amassed eight disposals and six marks to add to her two goals. Combining with young guns Ella Roberts and Kate Bartlett, Schmidt experience and craft around goal will be invaluable to what could be a potent forward line for West Coast moving forward that boast a lot of potential moving forward into the next few seasons.
