Former rugby sevens gold medallist Kellie Gibson made the switch to football after winning gold at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. After playing exhibition matches with the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne, Gibson became an inaugural AFLW premiership player with Adelaide in 2017 before spending two seasons at Fremantle. A foundation Eagle and one of West Coast’s most experienced players, Gibson celebrated her 50th AFLW game for the club during the 2025 season, becoming just the fourth Eagle to reach the milestone. Renowned for her speed, toughness and versatility, Gibson has also grown into a key leader within the squad, helping guide the club’s emerging group both on and off the field. Her experience, professionalism and ability to impact through the midfield continue to make her an important figure as the Eagles build on their historic first finals campaign heading into 2026.
