Experienced midfielder-turned-defender Emma Swanson is the most decorated Eagle in the AFLW competition. After an outstanding season seven, Swanson was named Club Champion for the second time in her career going back-to-back after winning the same award in the season prior. To add to her trophy cabinet, Swanson was also named Trademark Player and Club Champion Runner Up in previous seasons for West Coast. Prior to joining the inaugural side, the midfielder plied her trade with the GWS Giants for her first three years in the AFLW. After leading the club as captain for six seasons, Swanson decided to step down from her leadership role ahead of her 10th season in the league, to prioritise balancing family life with football. Throughout her time leading the Eagles, she has been a steadfast pillar of leadership and stability, with her character and work ethic serving as a genuine inspiration to her teammates.
