Defender Beth Schilling has overcome her share of injury setbacks to establish herself as an important member of West Coast’s backline. Drafted with pick No.24 in the 2021 AFLW Draft after an impressive National Championships campaign, the Peel Thunder product enjoyed success at WAFLW level before making her mark in the AFLW. Schilling’s outstanding 2024 season was highlighted by an AFLW Rising Star nomination and the club’s Trademark Player award, and she built on that form in 2025 as a key contributor during the Eagles’ historic first AFLW finals campaign. Renowned for her courage, competitiveness and defensive reliability, Schilling continued to develop her intercept game and ability to nullify opponents. Although her season was cut short by a foot injury, the young defender remains one of the club’s most exciting emerging talents.
