West Coast young gun Harley Reid has been named in the AFL Players’ Association’s initial 22Under22 squad, following another standout season in blue and gold.
Reinforcing his status as one of the competition’s most exciting rising stars, Reid shouldered a heavy midfield load this year and was in top form before an ankle injury ended his campaign early.
Reid averaged 18.8 disposals, 3.9 clearances and 3.5 tackles across 19 games.
Whether bursting from stoppage, standing up in tackles, or producing game-changing moments, the 20-year-old has quickly become a cornerstone of the Eagles’ engine room.
The 22Under22, presented by Intrepid, is a fan-voted team that recognises the best 22 players aged 22 and under for the entirety of the season.
The No.1 draft pick of 2023 is one of the headline names in the initial squad, joining the likes of Nick Daicos, Jason Horne-Francis, Sam Darcy and Will Ashcroft in a star-studded crop of emerging talent.
After being selected in the final 22Under22 team last year, Reid now has the chance to make it back-to-back appearances when the fan-voted final side is revealed later this month.
Voting is open from 12pm (AWST) on Wednesday, August 6th and will close at 9:59pm (AWST) on Wednesday, August 13th.
