A passionate ‘In the Wings’ member has won the ultimate fan experience as part of the club’s ongoing Mega Member Prize Draw. Securing the ‘Fly With the Team’ prize, which includes a seat on the team’s charter flight to Melbourne for Round 23.
The lucky winner, Joanne Hopkins, a schoolteacher, was unable to answer the initial call notifying her of the win but the surprise was far from spoiled.
The call came from none other than club legend Nic Naitanui, whose voicemail now holds pride of place in her phone.
“I was devastated to miss the call,” Joanne admitted.
“But secretly thrilled to have a message I can play over and over and share with my family and friends.”
Joanne plans to bring her husband along for the unforgettable trip, which includes return flights from Perth, two nights’ accommodation, match tickets to the round 23 clash with the Western Bulldogs, and the chance to welcome the team on the field as part of the Guard of Honour.
“It’s very special,” Joanne said.
“This will be our first time in Melbourne, we can’t wait!”
